Brother Reid Wildings Funeral.

Today was Brother Wilding's funeral.  It was a very nice one even though

it lasted 1 1/2 hours.  All of their children were there.

They had a lot of songs which I really enjoyed.  Their children can all sing very well.

They said they wanted it to be a celebration of his like and they wanted to be happy instead of mournful.

Tonight I could hear music and lots of laughter and I'm pretty sure it was their family.

They haven't seen each other for awhile and I'm sure they were having a good time.

Brother Wilding was excited aboout moving on.

This Lily is a plant I got from Mom's Lily.

You may remember I showed you the last time this lily bloomed.

 It was on November 5th which was Mom's birthday.

Today it started to bloom again.  It was Uncle Wayne's birthday and

he is 77 years old.

I felt like Mom was talking to me and telling me she is close by.

Grandpa has to be busy.

I heard the saw and went outside and Dad was using the chop saw.

I came in a got my camera and went out and he was done with the chop saw

and was sanding.  Needless to say the bandage is nice and dirty, because

he was sanding then.

I heard the different saw and went out and he was sawing.

I said what are you doing and he said if I was in a car accident, it wouldn't

mean I would stop driving.

I said at least you could wait until it heals up.

But you know Grandpa,, I does what he wants to no matter what.

Thats why he is always in trouble.

Stubborn you know.

Monday, Aug. 29--corn on the cob

I got some pretty good ears of corn from the produce, so I blanced it and

had some for supper for Becky and Dad and froze the rest.

Wildlife in the back yard.

This bunny rabbit is very hard to see.  He is by the railroad ties.

He was out in the back lane eating weeds when there is all that good grass.

Guess he likes variety also.

I think he lives under the wheelbarrow because that is where he went and

he never came out again.

This little yellow bird was even harder to see.

It is up on the line between the pine tree and the applee tree.

Then the Galbraith tribe came over and scared everything away.

  I didn't get a picture of them as my battery went out.

It was so hot I was setting out in the backyard swing.

Rexburg water park fun.

Wedy spent some time chasing Cade.  He is quick.

Elise and Micah have stopped by Scott and Mariah.

Rod is wondering where that Cade is.

I think Cade was having more fun than anyone except maybe Tyler.

Shanell is working with Landon and he was having a great time,

after he got over being cold.  It was a very warm day but he was cold at first.

Micah is the life of the party.  Just look at her happy smile.

Tyler always gets away without me getting a picture of him.

Wedding Anniversary.

We have been married 45 years now.

I don't know if I told you are not, but Brother Reid Wilding passed away on tuesday.

He was at church the past 2 sundays, after the Dr. told him he only had

3 weeks to live.  He has had cancer a number of times.

We never know when it is our time.

We worked at the Temple this morning and were rather tired,

so we decided to go out to eat on another day.

Another Dr. visit for Dad.

Dr. Harper looked at Dad's thumb today.  He said it looks okay

but it is going to take a long time to heal.  The nerves are

right there by the surface.

He has a smaller bandage on now.  See his red thumb.

Relief Society Cookout

Here were some of the other women.

We had a great turnout.

We had hamburgers and hotdogs and lots of salads.

Then we had some great desserts.

It was in Julie Clarks backyard and we had a nice time.

The weather was perfect.

Visiting teaching

Today we went visiting teaching to our 3 ladies.  Two of them wanted to visit

awhile so it took us 2 1/2 hours.  The lesson was on women being "Holy"

women.  A long time ago I gave a Relief Society lesson on Joseph Smith organizing

the first Relief Society.  His mother made this quote and I got

Ginger Brown to write it for me.  She has beautiful penmanship.

Since it was quoted in the lesson I took it along.

Monday, August 22--Garden produce

We got these spuds from 2 plants from our garden.

They sure taste good to me.

This is our last picking of raspberries.  Becky helped me pick them and

we got 2 quarts.  They have been beautiful this year.

I made another batch of jam.

A busy Sabbath ahead of us.

This is a picture of the bouquets that Kaitlyn and Nicole brought to me at the cabin yesterday.

Kaitlyn  picked a few huckleberries also, but Kedryn stayed and picked a

quite a few.  He had the cup 3/4th of the way through.

Then Kedryn decided to build a fort out of cushions and little chairs in

the livingroom.  They had fun playing in it for awhile.

Today Dad has a cold and is staying home from Church.

I work in the library before church starts and go to sacrament meeting,

then work in the library during sunday school and afterwards.

After church we have visiting teachers coming,

and then at 3:30 I have a Library meeting with the Ward.

Becky and I will change Dad's bandage on his thumb later this afternoon.

Guess I better go get ready for church.

Saturday Aug. 20th.--Put new toilets in.

Michael had a platform built to raise it from the floor.

The boys put them in and put the tile on top.

Uncle Tim brought us the toilets and helped set them.

Now we won't have to worry about a leaking toilet.

After lunch, Derek took the boys for a ride up the canyon.

He said the road is much better now than it was in the spring.

Lance took the girls and Katrina for a ride on the new 4 wheeler.

The ride was so comfortable that Ashlyn went to sleep.

Friday 19 August- at cabin

Becky, Dad and I went up to the cabin in the afternoon.

Becky made supper for all of us.  We found out Katrina and kids would

come later and Lance and Derek would come after their motercycle ride.

They got there about 6:45 and Katrina and the kids came later.

It was nice to have them there at the cabin.

Derek and Lance came to help Dad put in the new toilets on saturday.

Dad's thumb was hurting him quite a bit and he finally took an advil.

Out with the old and in with the new.

This plant was struggling so I decided to change it for another one.

Hopefully this plant will do better.It has some color to it instead of just green.

Dad is having a hard time of it today.  He has been throwing up since 4 o'clock,

and it is 10:45 now.  He only had one pain pill early this morning at 7:30.

Any suggestions let me know.

Today we had or first cherry tomatoe.  I didn't even know we planted a cherry tomatoe.

I gave it to Dad.

Dad and I went out to eat after running all the errands.

After we got Dad's lab work done and visited a few family members

we went out to eas at one of Dad's favorite places.

He really likes Tuesdays as they have all the scrimp you can eat.

He won't try the chop sticks though/  Can't imagine why;

New telephone.

I charged up my phone and didn't know I needed to turn it on.

I am trying to get used to this phone.  I wasn't used to my old one after 2 years.

Guess I'm slow with new technology.

I gave my lesson in Relief Society today. Maybe my last one we shall see.

I didn't get a picture today so will send some pictures I took last week of my pansies.

Each one has a different face.

They are a happy flower I think and they smeel so good.

Saturday August 13-Wendy, Layne and Lukes Birthday

This is at the campfire on Saturday at the ward campout.  Friday night we went

to supper and then went over to the cabin for the night.

The Welch's came in late from their trip through Yellowstone.

Becky and I used to visit this lady visiting teaching.  We really enjoyed

visiting

 with Heather Baird.

all of the kids were trying to get warm by the fire.

The man in the background is Brother Murdock our home teacher.

What is it with boys and their stick which just have to go into the fire to give it a

cool look.

Ward overnight campout up Teton Canyon.

We were having the meal on Friday night at the campsite, Reunion Flatts.

It was a nice area.

You can see Burtons on the right and on the left is Biya Wood (head turned away)

and Pam Ogden, Dave Ogden and Eileen Kershaw.

They all came up just for the night and went back to Sugar after supper.

Debbie Kinghorn is doctering her daughters toe.  Her husband is Brian Kinghorn who

is our Bishop.  He is out of town on a Church History tour so she was camping out alone with all of her kids.

She is Becky and my visiting teacher.  She went on the hike to Devils staircase.

I haven't got to talk to her yet to see how it went.

Here come the winds.

Earlier it was pretty windy although it wasn't 40 miles a hour like they forcasted.

All of my windchimes were serenading me.  I love the sound of them.

Thanks Kendra and Jared for the 3 windchimes.

They all make their own musical sound.

Do all pine trees have cones?

I went out to take a picture of the different pinecones of my two trees in the front.

This is the pine cones from the Scotch pine which Dad doesn't like to

pick up in the spring after a wind storm.

Then I went to get a picture of the pine cones on the White Pine,

Idaho's state tree by the way, and guess what?  No pinecones.

I never knew that before.  We are not supposed to be able to grow

this pine tree in this cold of a climate, but has been doing well for many years.

Guess we give it lots of love.

Tuesday Aug. 9---Flower power

Some of my flowers are still blooming and showing off.  This cosmos is pretty

and should reseed itself and come back next year. 

I used to have some by the front porch and always liked them.

I don't know the name of this delicate flower.

It is a tough one as it has bloomed for years and years.

Guess it is a little like some people, they seem delicate, but seem to hang in there.

My rose bush in front is winding down a little, but I think it will still make a

show for us before winter comes.   It is very hardy and I love it.

I probably get more comments about this and my lilacs than any other flowers

in my yard.  They are both tough.

Tuesday August 9th. Salsa day.

Monday I started making salsa and finished it the next day.

I never know how it tastes as my taste buds don't work too well.

It is a lot of chopping.

Notice a difference in berries?

One of them is of sour cherries I picked at Morgan's this morning.

When I started cleaning them, I found out they were not good,

and when I found the first worm they all ended up thrown away.

All that work for nothing.

I made 2 batches of raspberry jam, one batch of peach/plum

jam and froze 3 bottle ready to make jam next winter.

The raspberries have been great this year.

Notice the difference?  I have one bucket of sour cherries.

I was going to make a pie, but when I started to clean them I found out they were

not good, so I threw they away.  I picked them this morning from

Debbie Morgan's tree, but they must not have sprayed

them this year and they were little.

When I ran onto a worm, I threw them away.

Time to prepare another R S lesson. Sunday Aug. 7

I thought they would have replaced me with another teacher by now but

so far they haven't released me yet so I guess I teach a lesson next week.

It is on families and I guess we have had a lot of family get togethers

this summer which is great.
