What a difference a few days make.

Snow, snow and more snowl

We woke up to a lot of it.

Early this morning, Becky shoveled the driveway before we went outside.

After Michaels Dr. apointment, he went out and used his snow blower.

Then the came by, and he had to shovel out at the

end of the driveway so we could get out

before we had to go back to town for him to get a ultasound

of his heart.  The Dr. noticed his unusual rythem at our earlier appointment

and had him change back to the blood thinner.

Now we will have to go back to getting tests done every week

or so until it gets as thin as they want.

It is supposed to prevent strokes.

Uncle Lyle was operated on his heart this morning and the operation

took a long time.  From 7 AM to about 2:30PM.  He is doing well and

we are glad this is behind him.  He will have to stay in the

Hospital for about a week more.

Summer flowers are almost gone.

This morning as I was doing a couple of projects that still needed to be done

outside, I noticed a couple of bright spots in the garden.

The strawberry plants have turned a beautiful bright red.

This mum as been slow in blooming, but it looks really pretty

for this time of the year.

I'm sure they won't last too much longer.

Shorter drapes.

Last week I had to shorten the drapes in the livingroom to make

room for the new gas heater Uncle Tim put in.

The heat sure feels good.

I'm sure we will really enjoy it this winter.

Only 2 months behind.

I just finished my 1000 batches or 30,000 names with

my indexing.  Thats a lot of names.

ON Friday our ward is having "fantastic Friday" and Becky and

I were responsible to get the women to sign up for soup and desserts.

Now hopefully they will all show up.

Becky cleaned out all 3 freezers on Saturday and we dumped out

a couple of boxes full of bottles.  More for the shed.

The freezers really look good.  Thank you Becky.

Now I can find what I want to find.

October Conference. Change in age of missionaries.

Saturday, Oct.6, President Monson announced

that Elders could go out at 18 years old,

and Sisters at 19 years old.

It was Mariah's 19th birthday so she will always remember that day.

Huntington Canyon.

There was a lot of fire damage up the canyon but these were a few of the trees

which were not touched.

Grandpa Bates was visiting with Koria and Kimball while we were having lunch.

We saw a sheepman, herding his sheep on our way down.

Sept. 29 trip to see the pictograffs on the rocks close to Huntington.

Jared and Layne are on top of a big rock.

The rest of the kids had to join them.  I don't know what Jared and Kimball and

Koria were looking at.   I know it wasn't me.

These pictures are not just painted on the rocks, but they are pecked in with little

dots in the rock.  Thus the difference in Pit-tographs, verses picturegraphs I guess.

Becky and the kids had a great time exploring the rocks.

Layne was giving her Grandpa a kiss on the cheek.

He got quite a few from her over the weekend.

Peaches from our peach tree.

Look at these beautiful peaches from our own tree.

They were small, but were great tasting.

I bottled 5 quarts of peaches from them plus what we ate fresh.
