New pictures on fridge

Becky organized my spice cubbard. She doesn't think it looks better but I know it does.
Look at all my new pictures on the fridge. You will have to come and see it. It looks great!!
Yes I have a lot I know, but it seems like my family is here. Becky took the old pictures off for me a couple of days ago and it looked so empty and cold. Now it is all warm again. I love each one of you and I sit at my chair by the table and look at all of you. I am so blessed to have such a wonderfull family. Come on to my house and see them.

Burn those needles

You saw my blog yesterday showing the big pile of needles we put in the garden. Today Dad burned them up. They caused quite a smoke that didn't smell to good, but we are glad they are gone.
This is a little scary. I wanted to take a picture of Becky's window that Koria and Kimball helped her decorate. Then I saw my reflection and wondered what it would look like. One big Booo from me to you.

Apples, apples, apples----Pine needles, needles, needles

Today I decided to pick the apples on the remaining tree. We didn't think we had many but look below. There was more than we expected. I made 2 apple pies today and they were good.
If you want apples or plums come on to my house.
Dad has been raking up pine needles all week and I helped him load them in th wheelbarrow and take to the garden area where he can burn them. He even waved at all of you. I'm tired tonight.
Last night, the Bishop met with your Dad and me and released Dad from his employment specialist job which he had had for about 8 years. He also gave both of us a new job. We willl now be working in the Church Library for the Sunday School time period.

Shelf re-due in first storeroom

This may look boring to you, but it is very exciting for me. I've needed to clean out these shelfs for awhile but did't want to face it. It is done for a little while anyway. Maybe I can find something now. I did find a number of things that I didn't know I had. Maybe Dad will know what cereals he has now.

And the hail came down....

As you can see we had quite the weather show today. It was cold, never got over 38 degrees all day. It was windy and as you can see, the hail came down pretty hard for awhile. Even Dad was happy to stay inside today.
Some of the hail was pretty good size. I'm sure my flowers didn't enjoy it very much but they are hanging in there.

FHE at Derek's home

Becky had packed up five boxes of things that belonged to Derek and so we called him and told him we would come down tonight. Becky, Dad and Derek unloaded them.
We got a couple of salads at Broulims, plus some maple bars and chips. We got a hamburger at Wendy's and had a little home evening with Derek. We had a good visit with him and saw his new printer. He didn't want to carve pumpkins at his planned FHE in his singles branch so we were able to visit with him.
As we were leaving Derek's home we saw this beautiful sunset and I had to get a picture of it.

Headache cure?

I read on the internet that limes would help with a headache so I tried rubbing it on my forehead on Sunday night, Oct. 24. It did seem to help the headache a little, but I rubbed it on my legs and knee and it didn't hlep at all. Oh well, maybe it only works for your head.

Closeup quiz

Guess what these top three pictures are of. Sometimes, closeups seem strange.
Now you all know what this picture is of. One of my famous to do lists. The important thing about this one is that Derek and Becky are very impressed with me because after 70 years I can finally spell VACUUM. Wonders will never seize.

Perfume from Israel

Look at the perfume bottle that Norma Lee brought back from her trip to Israel. Pretty isn't it?
I looked around to see what else was pretty and here they are. Have a beautiful day.

Time to pick the Plums

Plums are so pretty especially on the tree. They are really good plums. They are freestones so are easy to eat. Wish you were all closer and could share them with me.
Just jad to throw in one of my apples also. I ate it right afterwards on the back swing with Dad. The days have been so beautiful this week. Into the 60's which is great for this time of year.
I also wrapped some birthday gifts for next year. Want to guess anyone? It has been one of those days where I have done a lot of different things. I moved one of my geraniums into the house today and hope it does well this winter. My Mom used to grow a lot of geraniums in her bay window in the south of the house (Uncle Lyles home now).

Scenes from the cabin on October 20th

The trees are changing quickly and will soon be falling. I hate winter to come. It has been such a lovely fall.
Next time we go up the leaves will probably be gone on the trees at the top of the hill. The quakers loose them first.
Matt hasn't got the black sand between the rocks on top yet, but it looks pretty good doesn't it. The kids will be able to walk along it very easily. They should have fun.

We have been "booed" Oct. 19

Last night we got "booed" and so I decided to return the favor. I took out 5 pans of cinnamon rolls because I had such a large batch. Wish you had been here Jared.

Fall is in the air

Notice the pretty red rose hips by the fence.
The burning bush behind the front swing.
There is nothing like clean smelling sheets from the line in the Fall. I need to hang them out as much as I can before winter sets in. We should sleep good tonight.

Sunday, October 17

Becky and Micah are great baby sitters. We enjoyed having Micah here last night and helping entertain her cousins. She is a great "older sister".
We will miss all of you. Hope you have a save trip back Kendra.

Carnival at Lances for FHE, Oct. 16

The kids were having fun playing in the back yard after the good lunch we had. They always have fun whenever they get together.
Derek was pushing them high in the sky and the kids were climing the sides of the swing.
Just what can I get by tossing the ring. They had a fun time doing this.
Dad built a nice table and a bench for them to eat their lunch on. It is covered by a tarp right now because of the winter weather coming up, but it worked well and seats a lot of kids.

Ocober 16, Carnival continued.

Family pictures at the carnival on October 16. Thanks Lance and Katrina. We had a fun time paying together and visiting.

October 16. Carnival at Lance's cont.

A time to bet reaqainted with each other. Guess which baby is which, fishing pool which is always a hit nad toss that ring and get what you tossed over. That diet pepsi was popular for Grandpa.
