Thursday January 26

Becky looks pretty official doesn't she?  She had a light tied around her
head to see the wires.  The wires were so short, that she had a hard time.
When the flash went, Dad thought the power was still on
and that she had hit a hot wire.

This is the 4 piece plug covers for the bathroom.
Notice she had to take the clocks out of
the bathroom while she worked.
She hates ticking clocks.
We ppreciate all of the work she did yesterday.

A much needed car wash.

After traveling a lot in the last month, dad finally got the car washed this morning.
It is maroon!   I thought it was a dusty brown with lots of brown
icyles hanging from it from the slushy dirty road.

Tuesday - January 24. Dad's MRI at IF.

This is the view of the waiting room while Grandpa was getting
his MRI.  After I waited for one and a half hours, He came out and said
they weren't able to get a picture of anything.
Grandpa said he muct not have any "guts".
It is going to cost us a lot to not find out anything.  Crazy!

Monday January 23--Family Home evening at Wendy and Scotts.

My pictures are a little dark, but we had a great Family Home Evening at the Welchs.
It was very nice to all be together and to have the Black family on Skype.

The Otteson kids were intertaining us showing us how they are doing
in their karate classes.  Way to go kids.

Can you tell me why Ashlyn is not afraid of Bogie and she is of me.
I must be scary looking.
Just look at how Tyler turns away when I look at him.  Ha Ha.

Sunday January 22

I have been indexing and have been doing good for me.
Now I have 3117 points whatever that means.
I'm going to count this as doing Geneology work along with
the Temple sealings that Dad and I do.
Now I feel like I have completed all that my Patriachal (sp) Blessing
tells me I need to do here on earth.

The "after" pictures

If you can't tell, we have a river of water in our backyard.
The ground is frozen so it hasn't gone into the ground.

If it freezes now, we will have a skating rink.
We haven't got the snow though.

If it was warmer you kids could have fun wading and sliding
on the grass in the back.
It was a good day for cooking so I made an
apple cobbler, rolls and bread, and potato soup.

An angel food cake and a new picture on the wall.

Becky made the cake, but I took it out to soon.
Oh well it still looks good to me.
Strawberry shortcake anyone?

Dad framed a new picture and hung it up.  It looks nice.
Sorry about the flash in the picture.
It has been 36 degrees outside since I went to the Temple this morning
and it was 36 degrees all day yesterday.
Pretty warm for this time of year.

Thursday, January 19. Dr. appointment for Dad in IF.

Kedryn was watching Dorrin open his presents.

Look!  Kedryn has lost 2 of his teeth.

Ashlyn didn't want anything to do with us.
She just wanted us to leave.
The older girls had piano lessons.

wed. Jan 18--Dorrins birthday.

This was supposed to be the "before" picture of the big snow storm that was to come in,
all we got was rain and lots of wind.

We didn't get down to see Dorrin until Thursday as Dad had a Dr.'s appointment
on thursday but I wanted to show a picture of him "before" he opened
his presents.

Rolls to share.

I sent Becky out with cinnoman rolls for a couple of people.
I wanted to give Steve Webster some because he helped us with out outlet problem.
He wasn't home, so I took them out later and they still weren't home.
They must be out of town.
We enjoyed them anyway and hope Kathy will.

And then it was complete!

All we had to do to finish the flooring was the trim around the edges.
The trim was there but it was not stained.
After Becky got home from work she stained all of the trim.
It looks great I think.
Thanks again Becky.  She is fixing supper also.
You will all have to come and see it.

Sunday, January 15, 2012

You must see this! You may never see it again.

You will never see my chest of drawers so empty again.
Maybe I won't return anything.
It would sure be easier to keep clean.
But I really need to repace my gum.  Otherwise my little
grandsons won't have anything to get into.  Ha Ha.

Saturday, Jan. 14

This is how Becky and Dad spent the whole day.
I spent the day washing and trying to clean up under beds and large furniture
which they moved.  We were all very tired.
Dad went and got a hamburger for us as we were so tired.

Friday Jan. 13 --Temple Day

The Temple makes a beautiful picture and the Tetons do also.
This is a picture of the Temple when I left Friday morning.
Dad and Becky worked earlier and I was changing a lady who works with
Becky on the days I don't so I just came in at 6:30.
I went through an endowment session and then met Dad up on the
3rd floor to do sealings.

shelfs filled up again.

Dad stained his shelfs in the back room while we had them out.
They look good.
I filled them up again from the things that were in Kendra's room.
I still have some to go, but it is looking better.

Wednesday, January 11. (A day late) "after"

After.  A day later than we expected but the man finally got it done about 7 PM.
Derek and Marcie came and helped Becky and Dad move the fridge,
stove and washer and dryer back to proper place.
The trim will have to be stained another day.

We were all glad when it was done.
Thanks all of you for your help.

Tuesday, Jan 10 --"Before" picture.

This is teh old carpet.  The fridge had leaked and some of the
wood was rotted.  See Becky's pictures.

Monday Jan. 9

It looks a little funny behind where the fridge goes.  We decided that
it didn't show so we wouldn't paint it blue.

Sunday, January 8, 2012

Eating in the livingroom, just like the kids do.

It is a little different looking out the front window when we eat instead of the back.
There is a little more action out the front.

Saturday January 7 --Musical appliances????

Where has the stove and fridge gone?
Dad got a head start on getting the washer and dryer partway out.
Derek and Marcie came and helped, with a lot of help from Becky, to move
the appliances out of the kitchen and utility room so we can get
the new laminate flooring on Tuesday.

Here they all are in the diningroom.
Derek and Marcie ate supper with us.  It was just a hoagie sandwich
and salads as we didn't have the use of the stove.
Guess my cooking will be easy for a few days.

This is where everything ended up until the floor is done.
Look at your room now, Kendra.
What a mess, and
Becky had it so clean.

Friday January 6 --Temple day.

We filled up the pickup today and I got to talk to my little purple bunny again.
He said it is pretty cold, so I pulled his ears aroung his face.

Trip to the cabin in Teton Valley.

To Teton Valley to check the cabin.

Dad rode the 4 wheeler up to cabin and broke trail and then
and then came back for me.

This is how the cabin looks.
It isn't as bad as we expected.

This is a picture just above Uncle Lynns.

Wednesday January 4th. Sewing day.

Today I finally got around to hemming the quilt that Becky and I
tied this summer at the cabin.  To tell you the truth
I had forgoten I hadn't hemmed it.
We will give it to Ashlyn on her second birthday.

Look at my Christmas Cactus.  It hadn't bloomed for a long time so
Aunt Bonnie told me what to do.
I put it out in the little room at the top of the garage stairs where it
was dark and I didn't water it for a month.
Then I brought it in and gave it some light and watered it.
Miracle of all miracles, it is blooming.

Tuesday, January 3 - Quarter of beef.

Today Dad and I went to Iona to get the quarter of beef we got from a friend of Rods.
I'm sure we will enjoy it.

Monday, January 2, 2012

Back to the "have to does".

Today was filled with the every day jobs.
Washing, and cleaning.
I went into town and got a lot of these "Christmas" small towels.
They had blue and two colors of green and I bought all 23 of them at 74cents apiece.
I am going to make rice bags from them for our neighbors for next Christmas.
I also got 2 tablecloths that I give as wedding gifts.
Everthing from Christmas was 50% off.
PLAN AHEAD I SAY.

Then I cleaned out my files for 2011.
Getting ready for taxes soon.
I hate doing them, or at least I hate paying more taxes every year.

Derek and Marcie are back in Idaho Falls.
They stayed at Kendra's home last night, and are moving
Marcie's things over to her house, which she will share with 2 other nurses.

Sunday January 1. Happy New Year everyone. Blacks go home.`

We have enjoyed having the Blacks here for a week.
Today they are going back after Kendra, Jared and K & K go to Sacrament
meeting in the 6th ward.

I got a cute smile out of Layne with Becky and Kimballs help.
We will miss you.

Saturday December 31. Last day of 2011. The Atrium.

Aunt Linda and Uncle Pete showed us around Linda's new business.
It is really nice.  They call it "The Atrium".  It is located in the Hemmings shopping mall.
They have a web site on it I guess.  It is for weddings and receptions.
This chandalier cost a lot of money and looks like the ones in the Temple.

The brown stone wall behind Pete has a waterfall which wasn't turned on while we were there.
This place is huge, over 9,000 square feet.

The wood is notty Alder and is very attractive.
They have a lot of room for tables and also to dance.

This is the Brides room.  There is a Grooms room also.  They are located
up the beautiful stairways.

This is looking down from the top floor where the Bride and Grooms rooms all.
They have a staircase that goes down on both sides, so they
can walk down it and meet each other partway.
You need to see it to appreciate it.
They are having an open house on Jan 13 and 14th.

This is the state of the art kitchen.  They plan on teaching cooking classes here
and prepare food for the receptions.
They plan on having a Chef come in and cook in front of people who
come in for a meal alone.  Fancy.
So far hemmings have invested $500,000 and Linda's sponser from
California has invested $100,000 aand Linda $5,000.
They will have a million dollars invested into it before they are done.
They have allready had one wedding.  It was costly--$10,000, a girl from Sugar.
Her parents live on the next street over.  The Lewis's.

All of Linda's daughters will be involved.
Linda has her "Sassy" floral shop there which she will be doing.
Then Chelly will take pictures and schdule things.
Amanda and Donna will have there positions
and also Rena.
Scary!  I hope they made a success of it.
I sure wouldn't like all of that worry.
