Happy Birthday Scott--Sunrise, Sunset!

This morning we could actually see some clear sky and the sun coming up.
Arnells got home about 8:30 last night.
Dad and I went over and visited with them for awhile.
Their experience in Hong Kong was a stressful one.
We will have to tell you about their experiences.
Tonight when I went out to get a picture of the sunset, Becky was out
there also. She said she took a picture of the sunrise also.
Bet hers was better than mine.
It looks much warmer that it really is. The wind has been
very strong for the past week.

These piles of pine needles look familiar

Dad has been out raking up pine needles again. He thinks that he
has as many needles as he did last fall.
Looks like we will have to have another bonfire.
Dad is ready to cut one of these Scotch pines down and I can't see that I would
blame him. It is a lot of work.

Bird feeder

I started to worry about the birds as I saw another big bunch over in
Brigg's tree this morning. So I decided to fill the
bird feeder.

Poor little robins

These are some footprints of the robins around our place today
See all the little footprints in the snow. Last night we got a bunch more snow and the poor robins are trying to find something to eat. Notice how many robins are under the tree over at Arnells. They have been out there in the tree or under the tree all day. Arnells are coming home from their misssion early from Hong Kong Temple. Brother Arnell is sick and they are getting a medical release. They will be home on Wednesday. They want spring to come also so they can build some nests.

More snow-so whats new

We woke up to new snow this morning.
What can I say. Will it ever end?
Maybe in April.

Tin foil suppers-Dad's choice

Last night, friday March 26, Dad wanted a tin foil supper.
So we want them.
They seemed to like it okay.
I know this was taken the night before my post, must I guess it will have to do.

The snow is going slowly

Notice how the snow is melting. But sure is cold out there.
The wind is really cold.
As soon as the wheelbarrow get unmelted from the
snow we can carry off the piles under the trees.

Thursday March 24-Credit Union dinner

Tonight the three of us went to the credit union dinner. Remember kids
when we used to all go. It was a lot more fun years aso and
some of you won some good gifts.
They had it at the new Madison Hight school. It wasn't near as impressive
as it used to be.
Here were some of the gifts. We stayed to the end but didn't win anything.
It was rather boring to me and it was hard for me to sit that long.

Pruning of apple trees

This morning it was clear enough to see a sunrise.
Becky gets home early on Wednesday so she was out pruning the apple trees. It got a little chilly before she was done. Dad helped do some trimming from the ground and I just raked them into piles. Our wheelbarrow is still snowed in so I couldn't get it out to haul the limbs away. Becky got all that she could reach. They look much better now.

Early signs of spring?

Daffodils and tulips are coming up in front of home.
And look at that snow bank that has got smaller.
You can even see some sand now and the swings are free of the snow.
Notice the pile of snow by the side of the shed.
Look at the buds on the lilac bushes in back.
Also notice the snow at the back of Dads room.
Guess we have quite a bit of snow to go yet.

The moose is loose in Sugar City

This poor moose didn't know where to go. The cops and the animal
management people were all around him.
They wanted to wave us away but I didn't pay any attention to them.
He came real close to our steet but was still in park. He just wanted to be left alone so he could lie down and enjoy the nice day. This was his favorite spot to lie down just acrose from Shawn Galbraiths home. I just walked on their side of the fence and got some pictures of him. They those men shot him with a dart and he got up and was upset with them which couldn't blame him for. Then he headed East and I don't know when they got him to pass out. Poor moose, he just wanted to enjoy Sugar City. I guess they had to get him out of the park before the kids came through the park on their way home from school.

Pictures of Christ's ministry in the visitors center

Christ being baptised by Joh the Baptist.
I have another picture of them in the water giving each other a hug.
Christ taught those that he walked with.
He is the great teacher and we should listen and obey His words.
The ressurected Savior.
He lives and so shall we after we die.
Though His great love for us, He has made this possible.
He appeared to his Apostles and showed them his body and the prints
in his hands and feet. He Lives!

Lance's turn for family home evening and we went to the visitors center at the Idaho Falls Temple

I love the Idaho Falls Temple. It is where Dad and I were married
44 1/2 years ago.
They have some beautiful pictures of Christ that you need to see if you haven't allready.
He loves all of us so much, that He gave His life for us.
Lance was doing a good job of keeping Ashlyn entertained.
We saw a nice film after this. Then we went to Lance and Katrina's home and
had a nice time visiting with each other.
Dad and the men put the screws on the traxter
while we were entertained by the kids inside.
The fook was great also as usual.

Some entertainment at the Bates home for family home evening

Thest three boys were having a great time jumping off from the stairs. Pretty brave boys.
Everybody concentrate hard. You can do it Mariah.
Nicole performed very well on the piano.
So Cade and Landon thought they could do it also.
For some reason theirs did not sound quite as good as Nicoles and
Kaitlyns. Guess they need to practice a little more.

Family Home evening continued at Lance and Katrina's home

Lance got to open one other present for his birthday earlier in the month.
Cade has to be right there to see what he got.
We love yoou all.
Katrina was playing sliders with the boys. They are pretty
good at it.
The girls were dressed up as princesses and played a game with each other.
The kids had a play downstairs for all of us
and it was about Noah and his ark and all of the animals.
I didn't get a picture but should have.
Micah made a great Noah and when it started to rain
I felt it right in my face.
That spray bottle was quit effective.
I love this picture of Mariah and Elise.
She looks like she has control of that ball.

Shamrock day-the wearin o the "green"

Here is my shamrock plant. I got it a few years ago
at Albertsons on the 18th of March for a buck.
It hasn't looked to good this winter.
Today we had some sun so that might help.
See the 3 leafed clover.
Hopefully we will get some more sunshine soon.
