New things in our shed.

This is a used corner TV stand that we got in Blackfoot today.
Becky found it on the internet, and Derek went with us to get it.
It looks really nice and we will use it up at the cabin with our old TV.

Look at the new shelfs Dad and Becky built in the shed.
I hope I can find things when I want them.

A mixed up day---

I couldn't sleep so got up and watched the Royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.  Now they are the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge.  It was a nice wedding but I thought how much more wonderful the weddings in the Temple are with people who are pure and that the wedding says for time and eternity, when a civil marriage like this one today, says until death do they part.

The snow looked so beautiful in the pine branches.  It looks just like frosting or whipped cream.  It was very cold today thoough.  The sun was out but the wind was cold.

Dad has been working out in the shed all morning on building more shelves.  After Becky came home she went out to help him.  He really appreciates all of her help.  Not sure why we need more shelfs, but I guess it keeps him busy.  He could have picked a better day (then come to think of it we haven't had many good days yet this spring.)  We hoped it would keep Dad inside, but no such luck.  He is a workaholic for sure.

Wedding bells!

Today we received a wedding announcement from Evonne's daughter Katrina.  Notice her middle name is Vi.  The fellow she is marring has an Irish name.  Rory O'Hara is definately an Irish name.  Also notice his mothers first name.  It is Irish.
It is hard to believe these kids are old enough to get married.  Seems like it was only yesterday when they were little at the Schiess Reunions.

Bronwyn is either Irish or from Wales.  It would be interesting to know their family history.

Keeping busy.

Dad was busy cleaning out his lean-to and
replacing his equipment.

While I was busy making jam and bread to take out to a few families.
I don't think the jam is going to thicken so I guess we will have strawberry syrup instead.

What season is it?

I took these pictures this morning.  They look a lot different from each
other don't they.  Wonder what tomorrow will bring.
(this picture was taken of the snow on the tramp, so it looks worse than it was)

The flowers in the front look very cheerfull.
I'm looking forward to warm weather.

Last minute interactions.-April 25, 2011

Layne and Luke got a little special time with Grandpa before they went home.

Luke brought the picture book to Grandpa to read to him.
He had to read it over and over.

We really enjoyed your visit, Black Family.

Easter Sunday

The kids had a fun time finding easter eggs.

We had a real nice program at Sacrament meeting.
We had 3 soon to be missionaries talk.
The Thurstan boy and Strongs.
Ryan is going to the Philipines and the Strongs to SLC.
Their talks were all on the Savior and the Resurrection.

Saturday April 23-FHE at Sanells-Kendras lesson

Grandpa put all of the grandkids who were here to work along with Derek and Becky to put the limbs that were cut down out in the alleyway to be picked up.  They were good workers.
Pretty good when the line up to work.

We had a real nice FHE with everyone.  Thanks Kendra and Jared for the lesson
and thanks Shanell and Rod for the use of your home.  Everyone of us were there and that was great.

Wendy brought some clothes to share with the rest.

Families are great!

The kids were having fun with their swords.

Then they had fun eating together.  Hot Dogs and fries.
Isn't that an exciting meal?  They didn't complain.

Then they had to dye Easter eggs.  They ended up with some very nice eggs.
Landon liked his green one.
I liked the blue ones.

See his green egg.

Later Lance and Kedryn and Dorrin came and Lance helped us cut off some limbs
on one of the Scotch pines out by the garden. Thanks for your help Lance.

We had pizza for supper and Derek brought Tyler and Micah.

Hope the kids (and adults) get some sleep tonight.
See you all at Shanells house tomorrow for Blacks FHE.
Families are forever.  We love you all.

The Black family are here.

We are happy to have some visitors here for a few days.
Bedtime for the kids and anyone else who is tired.  They have had a long day traveling.

KORIA YOU ALWAYS LOOK SO GOOD!

Layne is ready to tell Grandpa goodnight.  Too bad he hurts so much
that he can't take her in his arms.   He thinks he is healing too slowly, but I'm sure it will take a little while.

Dr. appointment for Dad

Notice the new rubbarb cooming up.

Flowers coming to life.

Dad has a lot of pain and spent most of the night last night in his chair.
This morning we went to see Dr. Harper.
He didn't think there was a rib cracked, just bruised a lot.
He gave him a sheet to do some exercises with his shoulder and some pain pills.
Hopefully he will get some sleep tonight.

Love those library books

Today I paid the Library a visit.  With a book you can visit all kinds of  places
and learn a lot of interesting things.
Out of all of our senses, I think I would miss my sight the most.
Read any good books lately?

"oversize" towels

I ordered 2 towels from Wal Mart and they were advertized as "Oversized".
As you can see they are big.  Much bigger than I expected.
They seem like they will be nice.
So if you want some beach towels, you know where to get them.
I got them on a good sale. 1/2 price.  Two for $12.

Daffodils are in bloom!

It looks like Spring may have come.  Now if it would get a little warmer.
My daffodils are finally blooming.  I love the first flowers of the spring.
They seem to say, "Don't give up, we are here again.

The one time of the year when yellow even looks good.  These flowers are from starts I got from my Mom.

Grandpa got hurt again.

Dad got banged up again this morning.  He was trying to walk up the ramp on the new trailer.
Needless to say his shoes were slippery and Becky was out there with him thank goodness, as he fell right on his face.  He cut up his mouth some and hurt his shoulder and some of his rigs.
He won't go in and get an x-ray so we are hoping he will be okay.

He put his collar back on and we are hoping he didn't injure his neck.  I will have to watch him like a hawk to keep him inside.  He wanted me to put his shoes on, but I wouldn't.  He is stubborn allright.

fire burns up the pile.

Dad and Becky burned up the pile of pine needles.  It looks pretty small now.
ecky tried to help Dad take off a part on the riding mower so they could put a new part on.
They spent about 2 hours and couldn't do what they wanted to.  Lance and Katrina came to see us tonight with their family.  Laance helped Dad do what they needed to do but hurt his back in the process.  Guess we just needed an engineer.  Hope it gets better soon.  It was good to visit with all of them.

Today was a quiet one.

Today was Brother Kershaws funeral.
This morning I made a pineapple cake to take over for the luncheon afterwards.  We went over at 10:30 and were there until 12:30.  I was having a tough time sitting that long in the chapel, but made it.
It was a very good funeral and Dad and I enjoyed it.

This is the program and it was a very nice one.
Becky said, You know your kids aren't going to sing at either one of your funerals.  I laughed and said maybe my grandkids would.  The song "Oh My Father" sung by the three sons and one son-in-laugh was very good.  I really enjoy hearing men sing.  Now we have 8 widows on Teton Avenue in our ward.  7 of them in 3 blocks.  Kathy sat by me and mentioned this fact to me and I had already mentioned it to your Dad the other day.

Good byes are not easy.

I am always impressed whne they fold up the flag.
Today Dad and I went with Mary Lou and Gary to Driggs Cemetary for the graveside service of Nolan Cordan who was married to one of Michaels cousins, Roberta.  She was one of Aunt Naomie and Uncle Alfreds daughters.  It was quite nice and sunny, but had a cold breeze.  We were able to visit with some of his relatives.  On our way back we stopped and visited Margaret.

I like the gun salute.  I'm glad we still honor those who have served our country.

Tonight I went to Brother Kershaws viewing.  He was such a good man.  I got to see some good friends I haven't seen for awwhile.  He also served his country.  His funeral is tomorrow and I plan on going.  I need to make a cake for it in the morning.  This past month some good people have passed away.  I'm sure Heaven was glad to see them come home after all the unselfish acts they performed.
I hope we can all live so that we will be welcomed "home" as good and faithful servants.

Preen time!

Today was a little warmer so I put Preen on the raspberry patch.
It is supposed to kill the weeds before they start.

Today we even had some sunshine.

Goodbye small piles-----Hello big pile!

This morning was a little milder than
it had been so Dad went out to load up all the piles that we have
in our yard so I went out to help him.

Now we have one big pile in the back.
I was able to cut out the last half of row
of the raspberries.
Lots of needles in that pile.
I wouldn't want to hunt for a needle in this
pineneedle stack.

Shanell today is your birthday.  We remember very clearly the day you were born.
We love you very much and hope you have a great day.
The sun is even out for your birthday.  Hope it continues to shine.

Here we go again.

Looks like a winter wonderland.  April in Idaho.  When will it ever stop.  I've about given up.

As you can see we were dumped on again last night.
Spring in Idaho I guess.

Micah is visitng with us today while the rest are at the Temple.

Micah is staying with us for a little while, while Wendy, Mariah, and Tyler are
over at the Rexburg Temple doing baptisms for the dead.
I believe Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Glen work there today.
She has been busy with a number of things.  It didn't take her long to
put the puzzle together.  She has been drawing since then and we also were able
to talk to the Blacks, and Becky and Derek at Kendras.
Koria and Kimball opened some of their birthday presents that we sent down
to them along with ones from Wendy and family.
It is a little late for their birthday, but maybe that is more fun to celebrate it
more than one day like I do.
Looks like they were happy about their gifts.  Star wars is always a hit.
