Happy Birthday Becky---October 10

Elise was trying to take Becky's picture with Becky's camera yesterday at the Park so I took one of her also. Happy Birthday to you Becky. We had a fun time yesterday. Wish you all could have been there.
This was Elise just before she took Becky's picture.
Some of Becky's birthday gifts. Have fun learning a new game that Derek gave you.

Trip to Yellowstone in the next 3 blogs

Landons turn to sit in the front seat of the pickup between Uncle Derek and Grandpa.
Of course Cade needed me to take a picture of him when he had his turn in the back of the pickup with Aunt Becky and Grandma.
A lot of my picures looked like this from the window of the picup. I thought I got Derek in the mirror but I think it was in the other picture.
This cow elk was right outside the window. I could have touched her almost. On the other side of the road was a big male with a magnificent set of antlers. The others got out of the picup and got some good pictures of him. You will have to see their pictures. It was too hard for me to get out and then get the step stool to get back in. Look at the next couple of blogs to see the whole trip.

Wild life at Yellowstone on Sat. Oct. 9

This is the closest I got to the mule deer. There was a larger one across the road but I didn't get close to it.
The buffalo are on the move. I really had to laugh at Elise's comment. She thought they had to go to the bathroom a lot and Cade said that they sure pooped a lot. From a child's viepoint. I guess I was just paying no attention to that. Ha Ha
This is fishing bridge from outside the window. I did get one picture with Derek in the rearview mirror. Guess I will have to find it.
Save the best for last. Can you believe it. We say a mother grizzly bear and her two cubs. I was only able to get two of them clear. They passed right in between our pickup and Shanells car. There was a lot of people there and I am surprised that the mother didn't charge them. I have never seen a "grizzly" bear in the park before. It was very exciting. The park rangers were not to happy about all of the people right out there with them. You will have to see The other pictures that Becky, Derek, Shanell and Rod took. Amazing!

West Yellowstone with the Ottesons-Oct. 9

Here we were at the New vistors center at Old Faithful. Derek and Rod were moving the outfits closer to where we were. It was a little cool, but we had a great time. It was really fun to see it from the eyes of a child. The kids took turns riding with Dad, Derek, Becky and me and we got a kick out of them. Ask Elise to give you the elk bugle. She really has it down and Cade can do a pretty good cayote.
The Otteson Family on the walk to the Upper Falls from the Artist viewpoint. Rod,s Mom, Carol said she had never been to this place across from the Falls.
Derek and Elise were posing for Becky, but I got a picture of them also.
Elise and Cade were safe with their Aunt Becky. Elise wondered where the swings and slides were if it was a park. I will continue on the next blog with all of the wild life we saw.

tin foil suppers anyone? Friday Oct. 8

Tonight I had tinfoil suppers for us. Derek was here for supper, but Becky had gone out to eat for her birthday with Kathy to Sizzler so she wasn't too hungry. We celebrated Becky's birthday tonight as we are going through the Park tomorrow. Derek, Becky and I played Settlers of Caton. Derek beat bigtime.
