Chokecherry blossoms.  Did any of yours bloom Shanell.
I really like these trees as they remind me of my childhood.

The box in the back have strawberries planted in
The two in the front are ready for tomatoe plants.
Hope it works good.

The vinca plant is blooming right in the middle of the violets from the cabin

This is the little violet that I brought from the cabin.
It is a very delicate looking plaant, but you know it isn't as it grows up by the cabin.

Sorry I got the chokecherry bush twice.

Time flies by in more ways than one.

Look at my shamrock plant or butterfly plant.
It is dark outside and look at the leaves, they fold up and go to sleep.
Then in the morning, they wake up and look below.
The sun is shining and they are awake.
The maroon plant I gave you does the same.

Wednesdaay I met with some of my former classmates.
We went to the home of one of the girls that grew up in Cedron
They had a back porch and they enclosed it and they have a lot of room for when their
families come.
It would be nice to have more room.

We had anice visit.  Only 6 of us could make it, but it was fun
to visit with them.  We are all having the pains of "old" age.

Friday- April 27, and Saturday April 28

Guess what these little plants are?
Bet you could tell the Derek.
I planted some lemon seeds from my lemons from Arizona from
Marcie's Grandmothers place, and now I have little
lemon trees.  Just in time as I had to get rid of the tree Derek planted years ago.

Last night we went out to eat with the Ottesons.

Those kids have good appitites.  I think Landon can eat more than
any one I know.  Pizza and ice cream and pickles were their favorites.

We went over and say Derek and Marcie and saw their new China Hutch.
It is really nice and they have fixed up things nice in their home.
It always was nice, but now it has a feminine touch.

A mixed up week.

The first of the week was beautiful, sunny and warm.
My flowers started to bllom some more.
They have grown a lot in just a couple of weeks

Then, boom, we woke up to snow on Friday.
Needless to say I was not happy and I took no pictures of it.

Catch up time-Big time.

Dad is in Heaven.  He has mowed the lawn a couple of times now.
It is looking good.

For two days I helped Dad stain and then varnish his two wooden chairs.
They look pretty good I think.

Look how they shine.  He is going to keep one chair here
and take the other one to the cabin for him to use up there.

Signs of Spring at the Bates Home!!

"It's cherry pink and apple blossom white"

None of you know this song but it was our "Junior Prom" theme song.
This was the only time I ever got involved in any after school activity.
I helped make fake pink blossoms and we glued  them onto dormate  quaking aspen
trees that they cut down.  They looked quite athentic.
I also wrote to a group that was popular in our area
and hired them to come and play for our dance.
I didn't have a date for the dance but went anyway which a lot did.
They asked the Junior class boys to all get out and dance
the 1st dance with the Junior girls.
That went over good.  There was no way your Dad would do it
and a lot of the other boys, so The Senior boys stepped up to the bat
and danced with some of us girls.
The Senior Class president asked me to dance.  He was a very nice person
and I had never danced with him before, but I had a nice time for that
dance anyway.  Later, you Dad did dance with me.

Look at our cherry tree by the fence.  Each year it gets prettier.
It is a volunteer tree.  A stone dropped by a bird.

The lilacs are ready to pop out.  I think they will be done blooming
by Memorial Day.  Last year they were too late.
You never know what the year will bring.

They made it through another winter.

The daffodils are putting forth their sunny heads.

Yesterday, Wendy brought  Maria and Tyler to the Rexburg Temple to do baptisms
and confirmations for 4 of our ansesters.  I wonder how many winters
they have been waiting.
Someday you will meet them and they can thank you in person.

Two different daffidils.
Did you know some are pink?

The good old dependable rhubarb.  Come and get some all of you.
